Lavender Graduation
Lavender Graduation is a nation-wide ceremony held by colleges and universities in recognition of LGBTQ graduates. These students are cheered on by family and friends who may not want or be able to attend general commencement. Each graduate is honored with their correct name and pronouns. Dr. Ronni Sanlo created the Lavender Graduation at University of Michigan in 1995. The annual ceremony was created to recognize LGBTQ students and acknowledge their achievements and contributions to the university.
All students across gender and sexuality are welcome to join us in celebrating this milestone.
