Global Education Center

The Global Education Center exists to support all efforts of international education for the Shippensburg University community.  It aims to be a resource for the campus community with opportunities for educational, overseas experiences in addition to providing a welcoming community to students joining us from other parts of the world. 

It supports the function of studying and interning abroad; providing immigration, adaptation and cultural advice in a sensitive manner to international students; educating the University community through intercultural and educational programming; and supporting faculty efforts for short term study abroad opportunities.

Study Abroad

Seeking information about study abroad?  We can help you with navigating the process and finding the right program for you!

Students are encouraged to contact the office for information about upcoming Study Abroad 101 sessions and advising appointments. This should occur in advance of applying to a study abroad program to ensure appropriate transfer of credits.


International Students

The Global Education Center is your first and best resource for making the transition to the United States and to Shippensburg University.  We host over 50 students from over 20 countries. We provide unique services just for international students as well as supporting Ship students wishing to study abroad.

The staff in the Global Education Center are dedicated to helping you understand life at Shippensburg University as a new student on campus.


Health Insurance Required

New and returning international students must submit personal and health insurance information to the Global Education Center each semester by the end of the first week of classes. 

You must also send proof of your health insurance from your company to the Global Education Center, no later than the Friday of the first week of classes.  You should email the copy of your insurance card or policy to Globaleducation@ship.edu.Save
