Student Initiatives

Winter Break Food Program

On average, 70 students spend the winter break, including the holidays, in a residence hall. This program was initiated by the Alumni Board of Directors and has grown every year. After receiving donations, board directors shop and pack food totes that are delivered to students. Not only is your financial support for this appreciated, but volunteers are needed to shop and pack the food totes.Shopping should be complete by the second weekend in December and items need brought to campus approximately the middle of December for volunteers to assemble the totes.

Pay It Forward

Once a semester, the Alumni Association Pays It Forward during specified times with complimentary beverages at the on-campus locations for Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts. Days correspond with World Kindness Day in the fall and Pay It Forward Day in the spring. Help support this special treat from the Alumni Association thru the Student Alumni Association Fund.

SU Alumni Association

The SU Alumni Association’s purpose is to foster a strong relationship between the university and alumni with a mission to engage alumni and advocate common interests. Supporting your alumni association allows the Office of Alumni Relations to provide increased networking opportunities, reunions for classes and organizations, regional events, and so much more. Donations to the SU Alumni Association will allow Alumni Relations to expand programming and resources for you. The Ship experience is more than four years, it lasts a lifetime! Look for the Alumni Association Fund to make a gift.
