Exchange Students
Steps to becoming an exchange student at Shippensburg University
Step 1: Visit the international office at your university to inquire about the nomination process. Exchange students are accepted from partner universities only. Do not apply via the Admissions Website. The application process is different for exchange students.
Step 2: Once nominated to Shippensburg University, you will be contacted with application materials for both the online application and paper documents. Paper documents include a student enrollment form, proof of funding (bank statement), housing agreement and TOEFL score/English language exemption (varies by country). Deadlines for nominations are March for fall study and October for spring study.
Step 3: Receive welcome letter, I-20 form, visa instructions for F-1 student visa application. This occurs in May for fall study and November for spring study.
Step 4: Receive welcome packet (electronically), housing and arrival information. This occurs in June/July for fall study and November/December for spring study.
Step 5: Arrive on campus. Orientation occurs prior to the start of classes and sessions are mandatory for your personal and academic success
