Studying abroad can be appropriate in your sophomore year. Planning early makes the process easier. Freshmen are welcome to attend a Study Abroad 101 session as early as their first semester at Ship.

Think about signing up for the interdisciplinary International Studies Major/Minor. The world is open to Ship graduates who minor in International Studies and study abroad. Find out more about the International Studies program at: https://www.ship.edu/ism/ or by contacting ism@ship.edu.

No matter what major you choose, you should begin planning your study abroad experience one year in advance. Some programs do not allow students to study abroad until their sophomore year so planning early is necessary.
