Application
The Wood Honors College welcomes applications from high school seniors, current Shippensburg students, and transfer students. Approximately 60 students are admitted to the College each year. You may apply online, download an application form below, or request that a form be mailed to you by contacting the Wood Honors College office at (717) 477-1604 or honors@ship.edu.
Please note that the Wood Honors College application includes two brief essay questions (500 and 250 words, respectively; topics can be found in the application). We encourage you to complete your essays before you begin the application. You may cut and paste your essays into the application form.
High School Seniors
The Wood Honors College considers high school GPA, the academic rigor of high school coursework, application essays, and evidence of leadership and service in its admissions decisions. Successful applicants usually have an unweighted GPA of at least 3.75 on a 4.0 scale. The Wood Honors College is test-optional, so SAT scores are not required as part of your application.
The Wood Honors College welcomes applications from outstanding students who will thrive in an atmosphere of creative learning and intellectual exploration. To apply, please submit this application to the Honors College after you are admitted to the university. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. For best consideration, please apply before March 1.

Current Shippensburg Students
Current first-year and sophomore Shippensburg students with a minimum 3.25 QPA are eligible to apply for admission to the Wood Honors College. To apply, please complete and submit the following application. The application deadline for spring semester admission is January 5, and the application deadline for fall semester admission is May 1. Students admitted to the College will consult with the Honors staff before the semester begins to revise their class schedules to include Honors courses.
Transfer Students
Transfer students with a minimum 3.25 QPA are eligible to apply for admission to the Wood Honors College. To apply, please complete and submit the following application. The application deadline for spring semester admission is January 5, and the application deadline for fall semester admission is May 1.
