Career Advancement Resources

Entering into the workforce  can feel daunting, but the Shippensburg University Career Center has a variety of resources for students in our educator preparation programs. See below for links to resources for current students, alumni, and any educator seeking to advance their career.

  • Resumes & Cover Letters
    • Students & Alumni can create and submit a resume to the Career Center.  The "Create a Resume" section under the "Career Planning" navigation title has templates appropriate for all educator preparation program students.
    • Brand new is the University's access to VMock - an AI based program that helps you build a resume from a template, helping you to build a functional and relevant resume that will stand out in a crowd.
    • This section of the Career Center website also includes other valuable resources which will help to ensure you are ready for interviews and application submissions.
  • Interview Preparation:
    • Through Big Interview, students & alumni can practice their interview skills by responding to pre-recorded questions with their webcams. There are many interviews on the website, so students can choose one relevant to their major or the position they are applying for. After completing the interview, students & alumni will receive feedback from a Career Center staff member, and can schedule an appointment to review and practice answers in person.
  • Professional Dress:
    • The Raider Ready Professional Dress Closet (RRPDC) at Shippensburg University is housed and managed by the Career Center. The RRPDC offers inclusive wardrobe options to all students as they prepare for professional meetings, such as interviews, internships, job shadow programs, career/job fairs, and more. The goal of the RRPDC is to help students make the best possible impression and feel confident during a professional meeting without having to worry about how to afford it.
