Shippensburg University Math & Computer Science Day
The Annual Math & Computer Science Day is traditionally held on the fourth Tuesday of March at Shippensburg University. This event provides an opportunity for high school students from the surrounding region to engage in a variety of mathematics and computer science activities, fostering problem-solving skills, collaboration, and enthusiasm for STEM fields. This program featured a range of exciting competitions and activities, including:
- Team Computer Programming Competition – Students worked collaboratively to solve algorithmic challenges within a set time frame, testing their coding skills and logical reasoning.
- Individual Mathematics Contest – A challenging competition where participants tackled mathematical problems independently, demonstrating their analytical and problem-solving abilities. The exam includes problems from Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Precalculus.
- Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival – An interactive and engaging session featuring hands-on mathematical puzzles and games designed to promote creative problem-solving.
- Closing Address – A keynote speech delivered by a distinguished speaker in mathematics or computer science, offering insights into current trends, career opportunities, and the significance of these fields in today’s world.
Each year, the event serves as an excellent platform for students to explore their interests, interact with faculty and peers, and experience the vibrant academic environment at Shippensburg University.

Participants: 276 high school students from 16 different high schools
The Team Programming Winners out of 17 teams:
