English Department Internship Opportunities
One of the best ways to prepare for your post-graduate career goals is to gain practical work experience through an internship. Internships provide an opportunity for students to learn more about their chosen field and to make valuable connections with professionals.
The English Department offers a variety of internships to English majors and minors. The Internship Coordinator, Dr. Kungl, is always willing to meet with students to discuss on-campus and local internship opportunities. Several of these places have contacted her personally looking for an intern.

Intern Spotlight
Alex Knepper is currently an intern at Nori Media Group and she sat down with us to tell us about her responsibilities. Part of her interview is transcribed below.
Q: After getting the internship, what are some of your duties?
A: I’ve been doing research for my supervisor regarding how to use google drive for businesses, we’ve been really focused on translation services for some of the books because Nori Media Group is trying to reach an international audience. I’ve done some copyright work which involves applying for copyright for the books to protect the rights of the author. And also back cover copywriting for summaries on the back of the books which involves creative writing.
Q: Who would you say is the audience for the Nori Media Group?
A: Predominantly what they publish is religious and spiritual texts but they also have self-help books so anyone who is interested in bettering themselves whether that be spiritually or economically or in relationships or anything like that.
Q: What would you say to students looking to get involved in the publishing field or in an internship much like yours?
A: For anyone who wants an internship like mine, have a very positive attitude towards everything, say yes to every opportunity, don’t ever turn anything down, always look for more opportunities to learn and grow. For the field, just look for ways to make sure you can highlight your skills in order to show how you’re indispensable to the company and also ask a lot of questions. This way, you can build your skills beyond the internship
Q: Closing remarks?
A: I’ve had a great experience so far in the Nori Media Group and I would recommend them to anyone who would want to apply because it’s been a super helpful atmosphere and it’s been really great to get exposure in publishing, editing, and the market that goes into it. I think this internship would be a really great opportunity for any English major or minor.
