"I'm passionate about connecting students with professionals and skill-building opportunities. Sometimes it's about connecting students with our strong alumni network and other times it's about pursuing student media work, campus activities, internships and jobs. Students in our major are involved in a wide range of activities in- and outside the major - Public Relations Student Society of America, SUTV, The Slate, WSYC, SU Marching Band, Activities Program Board, Greek life, athletics, intramural sports, choir, student-faculty research, podcasting, and more."
Dr. Carrie Sipes joined the Shippensburg University faculty in the summer of 2006. Prior to that she taught for three years at Duquesne University's Capital Region Campus. She teaches in the public relations professional concentration. Her research interests focus on persuasive communication messages, trust and message framing. She serves as adviser to the university's chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA).
