About Chuck
Charles H. Diller or Chuck as he prefers, put him self through college, earning an Associate of Arts degree from Chaffey College and then a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Accountancy from California State Polytechnic University in 1968.
Chuck served in the United States Marine Corps and after two tours in Vietnam, earned the Navy Achievement medal with Combat “V” and a certificate of Commendation for exceptional performance of duties. Following his time in the military, Chuck took a job at KPMG Peat Marwick followed by JLG Industries six years later. Successive promotions led to the title of Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Director. In the early 1980’s Chuck joined Shippensburg’s College of Business Advisory Board. After a committed and successful career, he retired from JLG Industries in 2000.
In 2003, Chuck and his wife Jane established a scholarship for Mechanicsburg High School and East Pennsboro High School graduates with a first preference for students applying to the Grove College of Business. They furthered their commitment to the university in 2016 with an endowment to the newly established entrepreneurial center. The Charles H. Diller Jr. Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation complements the University’s Entrepreneurship major and minor and provides additional funding for student competitions, speakers, entrepreneurship mentors, student organizations, seminars, conferences, and other opportunities.
