Finance and Supply Chain Management

The Finance and Supply Chain Management Department in the Grove College of Business at Shippensburg University offers a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance. Finance majors can also choose a concentration in Personal Financial Planning. In addition to the finance degree, we offer a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Supply Chain Management, with the option to select a concentration in Logistics Management.

Finance is the science of securing, managing, and investing money. As a finance major, you will have a unique opportunity to participate in a student-led course that teaches your how to manage a portfolio of assets held by the SU Foundation. Career choices for our finance graduates lead to competitive salaries in a variety of fields. When you complete both real estate courses in the program, you will be qualified to take the Pennsylvania real estate licensing exam. And, our Personal Financial Planning concentration is officially approved by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, which allows you to take the exam to become certified as a CFP professional.

Studying Supply Chain Management at Shippensburg University will help you gain an understanding of the network of facilities, functions, and activities that are used to produce or deliver a product or service. You'll take a variety of courses in such areas  as:

  • Purchasing
  • Inventory management
  • Production management
  • Quality assurance
  • Scheduling
  • Information management
  • Customer service

These courses combined with hands-on learning experiences will prepare you for a wide range of job opportunities. Companies, locally and nationwide, are seeking graduates to fill positions to meet increasing demands in the industry. Combined with a concentration in Logistics Management, you'll be prepared for entry-level positions in transportation, warehousing, logistics, distribution and inventory management upon graduation.
