Leadership
Dr. Patterson was appointed president in May 2022 by the Board of Governors of Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education. His leadership term commenced July 1, 2021 as interim president.
The Provost's Office provides leadership and maintains direct administrative responsibility for educational programming including curricular, budgetary and academic personnel matters, coordination of enrollment management and academic administrative services including recruiting, admissions, registrar functions, and institutional research and planning. The Provost's Office is responsible for the support of the University's governance system and for ensuring compliance with policies of the State System and of accrediting agencies.
The Division of Student Affairs plays a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant and supportive campus environment that extends beyond academic pursuits. Committed to the holistic development of students, this division is instrumental in providing a myriad of services and resources aimed at enhancing the overall student experience. From offering counseling and mental health support to organizing extracurricular activities, the Division of Student Affairs strives to create a well-rounded educational journey.
The Division of Administration and Finance advances and maintains an effective and efficient living and learning environment by supporting Shippensburg University’s students, faculty, and staff through the development and delivery of high-quality, cost-effective services in financial stewardship, facilities management and planning, human resources, public safety, and administrative support. The division serves as the backbone of the institution, overseeing critical functions that enable the smooth operation and financial health of the university.
The Division of Enrollment Management and Marketing plays a crucial role in shaping the institution's image, attracting prospective students, and ensuring a diverse and qualified student body. This division is responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to optimize enrollment, managing admissions processes, and overseeing marketing campaigns to effectively communicate the university's strengths and unique offerings. The division collaborates with academic departments to align recruitment strategies with program goals to attract and enroll a vibrant and talented student community.
