Latino Student Organization (LSO)

The Latino Student Organization, founded in 1980, was developed to provide a support system important for the Latino student population at Shippensburg University. Their community is built through social functions, annual conferences, and just being able to talk to other members about anything from books to relationships. Biweekly meetings allow for students to know they have a place to feel comfortable and a sense of belonging. The organization is open to new faces of all colors and new ideas. The commitment is to the student and however they can help make Shippensburg University the place for you.

How do I join?

Latino Education Assistance Program

The Latino Education Assistance Program (L.E.A.P.) is a program designed to assist young Latino children in the Chambersburg, Pennsylvania area by tutoring them in various subjects. Similar to the S.T.E.P. Program (Striving to Educate People), students from Shippensburg University go into the Chambersburg Community and help students with homework, as well as act as role models for the younger students.
