Alumni Admissions Program
The Alumni Admissions Program helps maintain our tradition of academic excellence by encouraging academically talented students to apply and attend Shippensburg University. As a member of the Alumni Admissions Program, you will provide the "personal attention" and "encouragement" that can make the difference between a student choosing SHIP or another institution. Providing your perspective as an alumnus is the most important component to the success of this program, and is an invaluable element that helps the University reach and possibly exceed its overall undergraduate enrollment goals.
Program Goals
The mission of the Alumni Admissions Program is to provide trained alumni volunteers the opportunity to inform targeted prospective students, their families, and counselors about Shippensburg University through selected recruitment activities. This responsibility will be performed in a positive, professional, and organized manner.
The goals of the program are:
To provide alumni an opportunity to connect with their alma mater and stay informed of developments within the SHIP family.
To provide regional assistance to the admissions staff in targeted recruitment areas.
To provide a local information source for prospective students, applicants, admitted and enrolled students, and their families.
To present scholarships to incoming SHIP students at local high schools.
To increase the number of highly competitive, diverse, and qualified students applying to Shippensburg University at the undergraduate level.
