Alternate Testing Sites

In order to accommodate students’ needs, we attempt to work with various institutions to proctor placement testing at their sites. Below is a list of institutions that may be willing to offer placement testing for Shippensburg University students.

If you would like to test at an alternate location:

• Contact the alternate site directly to determine if they are willing to proctor your placement test(s).
• We have provided contact information for the institutions listed below
• If the institution is willing to proctor testing, have them verify this by emailing the placement testing office at either testing@ship.edu or SLAdamchik@ship.edu 
• Once our office receives this verification, we will send them the necessary materials to proctor your test(s).
• It is your responsibility to coordinate a testing date and time with the alternate testing site
• If registering for testing with an alternate site, you do not need to complete the online placement testing registration.  
•  You will need to print the portion of your online registration (Questionnaire page) that indicates your required testing and take that with you to your alternate testing site. You will also need to bring a photo ID.  

Some things to keep in mind:  

• If you choose to test at an alternate location you will not receive a registration confirmation email from our office 
• Institutions have the right to decline remote testing
• Some institutions offer free testing while others may charge a fee (see both lists below)
• Students required to complete any part of placement testing MUST complete all testing requirements before their orientation date in order to register for classes during Orientation. This means you MUST complete your placement testing requirement ASAP.
