Name Change

In June 2014 D2L officially changed their company name to D2L (formerly Desire2Learn).

They also officially changed the name of their Learning Management System to Brightspace (formerly D2L).

Continuous Delivery

In practical terms Continuous Delivery means that D2L updates their products (Brightspace Learning Environment, Pulse app, etc) once a month on the third Friday.

In D2L's words, "Continuous Delivery (CD) is a design practice used in software development to automate and improve the process of software delivery. The Continuous Delivery model will allow D2L to deliver updated technology to clients, enabling rapid, incremental delivery of high quality, valuable new functionality to users. This frictionless model also makes it possible to increase collaboration with clients and to adapt software in line with user feedback and needs, resulting in incremental and easily integrated changes."

Current Continuous Delivery release notes.  You can also view previous and forthcoming release notes on this page.

Here is the current schedule of release dates. Unless otherwise noted the updates occur on the third Friday of the month.
