Spring Semester 2010

The Sociology/Anthropology club celebrates the 40th
anniversary of Earth Day by making Beats for Mother Nature.

The Sociology and Anthropology hosts, “A Night Without a
Home” on April 13th, 2010.
Student’s gather for a sleep out event intended to raise awareness of
homelessness and to ‘feel in their toes’ what it is like to homeless. Student’s raised donations of clothing,
toiletries and canned goods that were donated to the Chambersburg’s Cold and
Weather Drop-In Shelter.

The Sociology and Anthropology club hosted a “Native
American Storytelling and History” event on February 23, 2010. Kevin “Many Faces” Young explains to
the audience that “no culture is better than another, only different”.

The Sociology and Anthropology club attends a “March in
Washington” in D.C. on March 20th, 2010 (the 7th
anniversary of the Iraq invasion), to advocate for social justice.

The club takes a trip to the State Museum of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg.

Racheal, Megan, Gina and Erika raise money for the Sociology/Anthropology Club by selling "Cultural Cookbooks" to students.
Fall 2010

Students of the Sociology/Anthropology club take a trip to
the Family Cow farm in Chambersburg PA to learn about sustainable agriculture
and to support local food.

Student’s of the Sociology and Anthropology club take a trip
to D.C. on October 30th, 2010 to attend the Rally to Restore Sanity
and/or Keep Fear Alive hosted by political comedians Jon Stewart and Stephen
Colbert.
