Quality Program
The John L. Grove College of Business is accredited by AACSB International, which certifies the quality of the curriculum, faculty, and support services. The Ship MBA Professional program consists of 10 courses (30 credits), which includes 8 core courses and 2 elective courses. The core courses cover critical elements of business management in today's technologically advanced and global business environment.
The course sequence is flexible, as the core courses do not have prerequisites beyond the basic requirements to enter the MBA program.
The Electronic Classroom
Video conferencing technology provides students with the opportunity to attend class at either Shippensburg University, the Dixon University Center in Harrisburg, the York Learning Center in York (300 East 7th Avenue, York, PA 17404), as well as East Stroudsburg University. Two-thirds of each course is taught in an electronic classroom and broadcast to the remote sites via videoconferencing technology, thus providing students the opportunity to interact with the professor and other students face-to-face from multiple sites. Many classes utilize on-line forums to enhance content discussions and sharing of ideas. One-third of each course is taught in an on-line format.
Why Consider an MBA?
Potential students often ask why they should consider an MBA over other master's degrees or what advantage an MBA might provide. This recent article from CNN provides a good resource when considering these questions.
Ship MBA Professional students have the option to take up to three courses in a 100% online format, further adding to the flexibility the program provides.
