The Federal School Code for Shippensburg University is 003326.

Students should complete an electronic Master Promissory Note (eMPN) in order to borrow a Federal Direct Stafford Loan or a Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan at www.studentloans.gov.

Parents may complete an eMPN in order to borrow a Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan after May 31st at www.studentloans.gov.

Dates & Deadlines

Prospective and returning students should complete the FAFSA as soon as possible.

New Student  Returning Student 

New Students Financial Aid Checklist

1. Apply for a Personal Identification Number (PIN) for both student and parent at www.pin.ed.gov.  These PIN numbers are required to submit your FAFSA every year.

2. Complete the Federal tax return after January 1st for student and for parents of dependent students. Use tax information to complete your FAFSA by using the IRS data retrieval tool. Keep a copy of the completed FAFSA for your records.  

3. After January 1st, visit www.fafsa.ed.gov to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The SU Title IV School Code is 003326. 

4. Submit your on-line FAFSA no later than March 31st to meet the Pennsylvania State Grant (PHEAA) May 1st deadline. Make sure you complete your PHEAA application.

5. Receive an e-mail from the US Department of Education indicating your FAFSA was processed.

6. Check the Student myShip  Portal at https://my.ship.edu for your status and downloadable forms.  Submit any requested documentation to the Financial Aid Office as soon as possible.  

7. You must review your Financial Aid; you may accept, decline or reduce your awards on the Student myShip Portal.
